Folsom Families,
We had such a wonderful week at Folsom! Not only was there a ton of learning happening in classrooms, there was also a lot of fun to be found! From our Glow Run to Makerspace to fun games in the gym, I saw many smiles and even heard some "this is the best day ever"s. Although we do work very hard at school, we also want it to be as enjoyable as possible along the way.
Our teachers are working hard preparing for parent teacher conferences coming up this October. Please know that your child's teacher will be reaching out to schedule a conference with you to discuss your student's progress. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns!

Running Club Our Folsom Running Club will be starting again on Monday, 9/21 for any 1st-5th Graders interested in signing up. Please scan the QR code or click on the link for the permission form and more information! As a reminder, students participating in Running Club are expected to be able to run or walk for the duration of our time together. Students signed up for Running Club will not be permitted to play on the playground or on the fields during this time. The goal is to increase their stamina as the year goes on, and the best way to do this is by moving their bodies! Please reach out to Laura McCauley if you have any questions. We are excited for another year of running! |
Folsom Yearbook 2026-2027🗻 5th Grade Parents: We are offering the opportunity to purchase a recognition ad for your child. Click HERE to create your recognition ad. Ads will be available for purchase until Friday, January 29th. This offer is available for 5th grade students only. |
Folsom Features Our students work really hard both inside and outside of school and we want to recognize our students as often as we can! If your student would like to be featured at one of our Folsom Friday Live assemblies this year for an outside of school achievement (such as participation in musical, athletic, leadership, or academic groups/teams/clubs), please email me at aeturner@prosper-isd.net. We can set up a date for your student to be featured at an assembly and he/she can join me on the stage to show pictures of their accomplishment and share what they have learned from the experience! |

Together We Champion Teachers champion for students when they haven't yet gotten a skill yet and when they have already mastered a skill. One way we do this is through WIN time. During WIN (What I Need Time), our teacher teams use data to determine what skills we need to intervene and enrich on for all of the students in the grade level. They then focus on these targeted skills during each team's WIN block. It is important that we are monitoring the progress of all of our students toward mastery of a skill! |
Together We Cultivate Engagement and collaboration are cultivated all throughout the building! I got the opportunity to visit students doing Makerspace in the library and was very impressed with the level of creativity and collaboration even our youngest students were doing! From working together to build something to playing a game that required communication and coordination, they were doing amazing thinking while also having a lot of fun! |
Together We Empower One way our teachers enrich and empower our students are by designing tasks for them that encourage lots of thinking and revision to thinking. One reason we use white boards a lot during our instruction is we want to make sure students know it is okay to make mistakes, erase, and try again! Here are third graders engaged in a vertical white board activity where they are problem solving together during math. Lots of math talk and thinking happening! |
Together We Prosper We are grateful to our Folsom community for helping our students prosper by volunteering time and resources to our school. Thank you to our PTO for putting on our Glow Run day during our annual fundraiser! We had a lot of fun during each grade level's glow run. Thank you so much for partnering with us to make Folsom Elementary the very best place possible for our students to be. We appreciate your support and collaboration. |

| BEST PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN TEXAS
Named by HEB’s Excellence in Education Awards as the Best Large District in the State of Texas, Prosper ISD has an established 67-year history that is grounded in the humble roots of a farming community, now soaring to the fastest growing school district in Texas, due in no small part to the pursuit of excellence in the arts, academics and athletics. Our students and staff are routinely recognized on the local, state, and national levels for outstanding achievements, and our teachers are highly qualified experts who bring out the best in every student.
ABOUT PROSPER ISD
Prosper ISD is a school district located north of Dallas in Collin and Denton Counties. The district spans approximately 58 square miles and serves more than 32,000 students in 20 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, 4 high schools, and one early childhood school.
🫶 THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY FOR SUPPORTING OUR TEACHERS & STUDENTS
In November 2023, an overwhelming majority of voters approved $2.7 billion to continue building excellence in Prosper ISD. Thank you for your continued financial commitment to our district.
And while our facilities are second to none, we know that it is the people who make the difference in Prosper ISD. From our bus drivers to our teachers to our teacher assistants, our staff is here to support students as they pursue their dreams of excellence in academics, fine arts, and athletics.
