 | Folsom Families,
We hope all of our students and staff are having a wonderful Fall break and we are looking forward to having everyone back on Wednesday (October 14th)!
We have some great events coming up at Folsom, including our PTO sponsored Trunk or Treat on October 23rd! The event is at 5 pm and is always a favorite. On October 28th we have picture retakes and on October 29th we will have our second house parade and congratulate our October house winners!
As a quick reminder about arrival and dismissal, please make sure you are driving slowly on school property and also cell phone free. For parents of walker students, please remind your students to use crosswalks when walking to and from school and to not ride scooters, bikes, etc. on school property or in the middle of the street when arriving or dismissing from school. Thank you for your partnership and help in making sure all of our students and staff are safe each day.
Have a wonderful rest of your day and please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns,

Fall Family Survey Here is our first family feedback survey of the year. It is important to us that you know that we care deeply about what we do and want to partner with you to make Folsom the very best possible school for our students to be at and for our staff to work at each day. We appreciate any thoughts you are able to share! Please know that this survey is anonymous, so if you or your student is needing support please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher(s) or to me at aeturner@prosper-isd.net. |

Please RSVP here if you are able to join us on that day and sign up here for a fast pass! Make sure to bring your driver's license. |
Safety and Security Reminder If you are attending a campus event or checking in to the building, anyone without a badge must enter through the main office on campus. This include outside events - all visitors must have a badge when attending an outdoor event (such as field day) on campus. Please also make sure that when you are checked into the building that your badge is visible for our staff to see at all times. Thank you for your support in helping keep our building safe and secure.

Together We Champion Our WIN time groups are in full swing! Our teachers are seeing students progress with important skills (such as using place value understanding to add and subtract larger numbers seen here in fourth grade) after receiving targeted instruction on these skills. Students move from group to group fluidly depending on skill. Teachers are also able to provide responsive instruction during our instructional blocks through using small groups as well. |
Together We Cultivate Our teachers are very good at what they do but are still constantly cultivating their knowledge and skills. Here are the second grade teachers engaged in lesson study - they are co teaching and observing each other doing a lesson they planned together. The reflection of the observations will help them fine tune their mini lesson delivery and learn valuable teaching moves from each other. We are so proud of our teachers. They work incredibly hard for our students. |
Together We Empower We started 'Word Wednesday' this week as a way to increase vocabulary in our school and our first word is magnanimous. We talked about how magnanimous is an adjective and the definition of magnanimous is to be very generous, kind, or forgiving. We want to empower our students to display these traits at recess and all throughout the day. I saw lots of examples of magnanimous behavior at fifth grade recess! |
Together We Prosper We are proud of our community partnerships, including with the Prosper Fire Department. They put on an annual fire safety presentation for our Kindergarten through third grade students. This year's presentation was on Wednesday (10/7). Students got to hear from the fire department safety tips and reminders regarding fire safety and also safety in general in the community. |
