It is important to us that you know that we care deeply about what we do and want to partner with you to make Folsom the very best possible school for our students to be at and for our staff to work at each day. We appreciate any thoughts you are able to share! Please know that this survey is anonymous, so if you or your student is needing support please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher(s) or to me at aeturner@prosper-isd.net. |

Folsom Features Our students work really hard both inside and outside of school and we want to recognize our students as often as we can! If your student would like to be featured at one of our Folsom Friday Live assemblies this year for an outside of school achievement (such as participation in musical, athletic, leadership, or academic groups/teams/clubs), please email me at aeturner@prosper-isd.net. We can set up a date for your student to be featured at an assembly and he/she can join me on the stage to show pictures of their accomplishment and share what they have learned from the experience! |

Together We Champion We have champion readers and writers! Across all grade levels this week we saw incredible writing happening. Pictured here are fifth grade students working hard on writing and reading. They also had the opportunity to share and discuss ideas together. Additionally, I had fifth grade students coming up to me wanting to share their stories that they were writing. We want students to be proud of their writing at Folsom as it is a very difficult skill! |
Together We Cultivate Our teachers work extremely hard during the school day and also outside of it in order to continue their professional learning, collaboration, and growth. Our teachers recently participated in professional learning to discuss our instructional blocks, chose learning sessions given by colleagues in the building, and also looked for examples of and ideas for writing across all content areas. Pictured are team leaders working to create a vertical writing progression in order to help us better design writing instruction for ALL of our students. |
Together We Empower We had our first house meeting of the year this week! Students got to meet other students in the school who are in the same house and interact with conversation starters facilitated by our fifth grade leaders. We want to empower our oldest students to connect with our younger students and be models of being FIERCE (focused, innovative, empathetic, respectful, courageous, and encouraging) at Folsom. |
Together We Prosper We love seeing our students prosper in all areas of the day, including in PE and recess with learning how to collaborate with each other. I have seen many examples recently of students telling each other 'great job!' or 'good game!' and cheering each other on. Our students learn throughout the day ways to talk with each other and also safety and game-playing skills as well in PE! |

- All volunteers must have a completed background check. If you are interested in volunteering, you will need to submit an application for a background check each school year. We recommend getting this done now so you don't have to worry about it later in the year. To fill out a form, click here.
