| | | Welcome Back! Amazing Light Farms Families,
What a whirlwind of a first week at Light Farms Elementary! From the very first bell, our hallways were flooded with bright smiles, new backpacks, and the best kind of back-to-school energy. Our Light Farms Leaders crushed it in navigating new classrooms, mastering the lunch line like pros, and turning strangers into fast friends. Teachers and staff spent the week soaking up the joy of a full house, building our classroom families, and kicking off what is bound to be the best year yet.
Now that the ice is broken, we are diving straight into the good stuff next week! Our goal remains the same - high instruction for all students. Our staff also will be maintaining a focus on "responsive instruction" this year to make sure we are growing every child that walks into our school. True instruction kicks off, and we will also begin our beginning-of-year MAP testing. Don’t sweat the testing—it’s just a chance for our students to show us what they know so we can map out a perfect year of growth. Just send them to school with a good night's sleep, a full belly, and their usual awesome attitudes. Let's keep this amazing momentum rolling!
A few new things to note - - Just a reminder, hats are only allowed on Fridays or other designated hat days, in alignment with the Prosper ISD Dress Code.
- Students are not permitted to bring toys, squishies, Neatos, or other similar items to school, as they pose a distraction in the learning environment. Thank you for your help in keeping our classrooms orderly and focused.
Be on the lookout for information on upcoming events that aim to help you get to know the school and our instructional work better. Here's to a great year!
