Welcome Back! Amazing Light Farms Families,
It was another incredible week of learning at Light Farms Elementary this week. While our students got an extra-long weekend, our dedicated teachers spent Friday engaged in high-impact professional learning—collaborating, diving into fresh strategies, and sharpening our tools to make instruction even stronger for our kids. We love growing right alongside our students!
As a reminder, there is no school on Monday due to Labor Day. Next week is going to be packed with extra community spirit as we celebrate Homecoming Week for Prosper High School! We can’t wait to join in the fun, and we hope to see tons of our Light Farms families lining the streets for the Homecoming Parade on Wednesday evening. Get those high spirits ready, enjoy the long weekend, and we'll see everyone back on Tuesday ready for a fantastic week ahead!
Have a fantastic weekend, Light Farms families!

Books will be delivered straight to Light Farms. Please be sure to follow the instructions on the second page of the flyer so that your book will be autographed and delivered to Light Farms. The deadline for ordering through Neighbor Books is September 30th! After September 30th, you are still welcome to buy a book from Amazon or another store and send it to the library by October 15th. Please be sure to include a note with your student's name and teacher.

Vision and Hearing Screenings On Tuesday, September 15th, all state mandated grades will have their vision and hearing checked as well as a quick visual check of their necks for the acanthosis nigricans marker (which can be an identifying factor of Diabetes) by our PISD certified screeners. These students will include all of Kinder, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades, as well as all new to Prosper ISD students. If you have any appointments to attend, please try to schedule them for after 3pm on this date.
Here are some tips to prepare your student for screening:
- If your student wears glasses or contact lenses, please make sure they are wearing them for the screening day.
- If your student wears contact lenses on the screening date, please have them inform their screener.
- Please no earrings on this day - many of the students state that the headphones for hearing screening hurt them as they press on their earrings.
