| | | Welcome Back! Amazing Light Farms Families,
Last week was short, but full and and meaningful for students, staff, and families. We took a moment of silence to honor our patriots and first responders on the 25th anniversary of 9/11. We also had the opportunity to get to chat and catch up with so many of you during our very first Coffee Connect. On top of a week packed with deep classroom learning, it was absolute magic seeing our Light Farms families out in full force lining the streets and bringing the energy for the PHS Homecoming parade!
This week we’ll be conducting our routine hearing and vision screenings for students in the library on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday evening, join us for a fantastic PTO Family Kindness Night as we officially launch our big Raise Craze fundraiser—a wonderful opportunity to practice kindness and support our school together. Have a great weekend, and we'll see you Monday!
Have a fantastic weekend!

Josh Funk writes the much loved "It's Not" Fractured Fairy Tale books as well as the Lady Pancake and Sir French Toast picture book series. He's going to talk about writing stories and creating characters with all grade levels. Prosper ISD is partnering with Neighbor Books in McKinney to allow families to purchase a book to be autographed by Josh Funk. Click the QR code below to be taken to the special site. Books will be delivered straight to Light Farms. Please be sure to follow the instructions on the second page of the flyer so that your book will be autographed and delivered to Light Farms. The deadline for ordering through Neighbor Books is September 30th! After September 30th, you are still welcome to buy a book from Amazon or another store and send it to the library by October 15th. Please be sure to include a note with your student's name and teacher.
Josh Funk Author Visit Book Order Form | | Vision and Hearing Screenings On Tuesday, September 15th, all state mandated grades will have their vision and hearing checked as well as a quick visual check of their necks for the acanthosis nigricans marker (which can be an identifying factor of Diabetes) by our PISD certified screeners. These students will include all of Kinder, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades, as well as all new to Prosper ISD students. If you have any appointments to attend, please try to schedule them for after 3pm on this date.
Here are some tips to prepare your student for screening:
- If your student wears glasses or contact lenses, please make sure they are wearing them for the screening day.
- If your student wears contact lenses on the screening date, please have them inform their screener.
- Please no earrings on this day - many of the students state that the headphones for hearing screening hurt them as they press on their earrings.
