Welcome Back! Amazing Light Farms Families,
Raise Craze is in full swing as we celebrate our students' acts of kindness and raise funds for all PTO does to enhance our school. Thank you to our PTO and community for your contributions, and also for those that attended Family Kindness Night this week. We also celebrated Arts in Education Week - A huge shout out goes to Mr. Hall, Mr. Neugent, Ms. Freeman, and Ms. Stephens. We are lucky to have such supportive, enthusiastic fine arts teachers at Light Farms Elementary!
I wanted to share a little bit of pride about our team of educators. Last week many teams began flexibly grouping students for WIN Time across the grade level. This effort enables our teams to be highly prescriptive in identifying students by name and need, and targeting the just right support to grow ALL kids. I couldn't be more proud of our instructional start to this school year.
Looking ahead to next week, we have our first House Rally. We look forward to celebrating our students and their hard work from the first couple of months of school.
Have a fantastic weekend!
A few new things to note - House Leader applications are available outside Ms. Nazario, Ms. Burger, and Ms. Roberts' rooms. The deadline is September 28th. House Leader is open to students in 4th and 5th grades. We are in need of 1-2 parent/family members to be a part of our site base committee. This committee meets 3 times per year to check in on our plan on a page goals and strategy implementation. We also are looking for at least 1 community partner (area business). Submit your interest here.
That's all for now. Thanks for taking the time to read this newsletter to stay up to date with what's happening here at Light Farms Elementary. We truly appreciate our community's partnership and support.
Warmly, Principal Turner |

Named by HEB’s Excellence in Education Awards as the Best Large District in the State of Texas, Prosper ISD has an established 67-year history that is grounded in the humble roots of a farming community, now soaring to the fastest growing school district in Texas, due in no small part to the pursuit of excellence in the arts, academics and athletics. Our students and staff are routinely recognized on the local, state, and national levels for outstanding achievements, and our teachers are highly qualified experts who bring out the best in every student.
