Light Farms Elementary

📒ANoteFromThePrincipal

Welcome Back!

Amazing Light Farms Families,

It was truly a joy coming together as a school for our first House Rally of the year on Friday. The energy and enthusiasm our students bring to these events, along with the opportunity to celebrate our students' academic successes and character, are some of the best things about working in education. I'm proud of all that our students have accomplished already, and cannot wait to see the ongoing progress and growth that will happen over the coming months.

Next week marks the start of October, with some cooler days ahead. We are excited to have the opportunity to get kids outside and playing on the playground during recess more as the temperatures fall. We also are fast-approaching our fall break holiday, so be on the lookout for those dates coming soon.

Have a fantastic weekend!

A few new things to note -

  • We have had some issues with large numbers of tardies for the first nine weeks of school. Many families attempt to drop off within the last 10 minutes or so prior to school, which leads to traffic congestion in our one entrance intersection. Our doors open at 7:25 - and traffic tends to be much lighter from 7:25-7:40, so please consider coming during the earlier timeframe to help us get kids in class on time (7:50). Thank you for your support with this.

  • We are in need of 1-2 parent/family members to be a part of our site base committee. This committee meets 3 times per year to check in on our plan on a page goals and strategy implementation. We also are looking for at least 1 community partner (area business). Submit your interest here.

That's all for now. Thanks for taking the time to read this newsletter to stay up to date with what's happening here at Light Farms Elementary. We truly appreciate our community's partnership and support.

Warmly,

Principal Turner
