PROSPER, Texas — Great leaders leave a lasting mark on the communities they serve; exceptional ones return to carry that vision forward. On Wednesday, September 30, before a packed boardroom, the Prosper ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to name Dr. Greg Bradley the lone finalist for Superintendent of Schools.
Dr. Bradley served as Prosper ISD's Deputy Superintendent before becoming Superintendent of Ennis ISD in May 2025. Now he's coming back to lead the district he helped build. When confirmed, he will be the 20th superintendent in Prosper ISD's 124-year history, leading nearly 35,000 students across 32 campuses. For thousands of families, staff, and community members, the news felt less like an announcement and more like a homecoming.
"When the Board began this search, we were looking for a leader who understands what makes Prosper ISD special. No one understands that better than Dr. Bradley," said Board President Kelly Cavender. "From our culture of excellence to the facilities our students walk into each morning, he helped shape this district. Our staff, families, and community know him well, and he knows them. We are thrilled to welcome him home."
The Board's decision reflects community feedback gathered by the search firm Impact Education Specialists, including in-person listening circles attended by 150 people and more than 2,000 online survey responses. Parents, students, staff, and community members said they wanted a leader who would bring a fresh perspective while staying deeply committed to the district's traditions, students, and staff.
"Our community was clear about what they wanted, and Dr. Bradley fits that description perfectly," said Board Vice President Garrett Linker. "He has deep roots here, and his executive leadership at Ennis ISD gave him valuable outside experience. That is why the Board reached out and asked him to return. Throughout the process, he demonstrated that he is the right leader for Prosper ISD."
The Board also thanked Acting Superintendent Bill McLaughlin for his leadership during the transition. "Under Bill's leadership, two new facilities opened on time and we launched a fantastic school year," Cavender said. "He ensured our leaders felt supported and that Prosper ISD's standard of excellence never wavered. We are deeply grateful for the steady hand he has provided." Once Dr. Bradley officially starts, McLaughlin will resume his role as Deputy Superintendent.
A Legacy of Service to Prosper ISD
Dr. Bradley's history with Prosper ISD began in 2012 as principal of Reynolds Middle School. Over five years, the campus earned consecutive Met Standard ratings, achieved a 100% pass rate on the Algebra I exam for 8th graders, and expanded elective and career and technical education offerings.
In 2017, Dr. Bradley was named Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations. In this role, he secured the largest high school stadium naming-rights agreement in Texas with Children's Health and facilitated voter approval of a $1.337 billion bond in 2019. Serving as Deputy Superintendent from 2020 to 2025, he managed the construction and rollout strategy for the $2.7 billion bond approved in November 2023 while building strong partnerships across municipal, county, and state leadership.
Dr. Bradley has served as Superintendent of Ennis ISD since May 2025, driving districtwide initiatives to elevate academic performance across all campuses. "Ennis ISD welcomed our family with open arms, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to serve its students and staff," Dr. Bradley said.
"Prosper has always been home for our family, and I am deeply honored by the Board's trust," said Dr. Bradley. "I had the privilege of helping build Prosper ISD alongside extraordinary educators, staff, and families. I look forward to working together to carry our legacy of excellence forward for every student."
Dr. Bradley began his administrative career as Assistant Principal at Hebron High School in Lewisville ISD. Raised in Hughes Springs, Texas, he graduated magna cum laude from Howard Payne University, where he served as Student Body President. He earned a Master of Education and a Doctor of Education from Dallas Baptist University, where he has taught School Finance as an Adjunct Professor since 2023.
Dr. Bradley and his wife, Melody, have been married for 22 years and have two daughters, Kiersi and Kayden, both Prosper High School graduates currently attending Texas A&M University. A member of Prestonwood North Church for 17 years, where he served as a deacon, Dr. Bradley enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, and golf.
Next Steps
Under Texas law, the Board must wait 21 days after naming a lone finalist before taking final action. The Board is expected to vote on Dr. Bradley's contract in October, with community opportunities to welcome the Bradley family planned shortly after.
