Welcome Back! Amazing Light Farms Families,
This short week marked the true start to fall here in Texas as the temperatures finally dropped and we broached the second nine weeks of school. Second grade had a blast at the Dallas Arboretum, and we began to settle into our routines for teaching and learning. This year our focus has been on responsive instruction, and I am proud of the work our teams are putting in to responding to data through collaboration and thinking outside the box with flexibly grouping students. When our teams work closely together, we can better guarantee similar outcomes across the classrooms and pursue high levels of learning for all kids.
Looking ahead, we have some big events next week with our October House Rally and PTO's Boo Bash event. It's hard to believe that we're already halfway through October - The holidays will be upon us before we know it, which means lots of opportunities for parent engagement and events around the Farm.
A few things: - As the weather gets cooler and we start to see more jackets at school, I wanted to offer a helpful tip: Please consider marking your child's name on the tag in their coats, jackets, and hoodies with a Sharpie. Over the coming weeks and months, we will typically see hundreds of items in our lost and found, and this will help get items back to their rightful owners. Thank you for help with this!
That's all for now. Have a fantastic weekend, and we'll see you soon!
Warmly, Principal Turner |

Named by HEB’s Excellence in Education Awards as the Best Large District in the State of Texas, Prosper ISD has an established 67-year history that is grounded in the humble roots of a farming community, now soaring to the fastest growing school district in Texas, due in no small part to the pursuit of excellence in the arts, academics and athletics. Our students and staff are routinely recognized on the local, state, and national levels for outstanding achievements, and our teachers are highly qualified experts who bring out the best in every student.
