Kindergarten used augmented reality through the iPad to work on encoding CVC words and composing numbers. We also had a special guest join us. The library has become so much more than just a place to get some books! Shout out to Ms. Nored and Ms. Gilman!

Meet the LFE 3rd Grade Team! This team is roughly about half new to Light Farms, but certainly enhancing our school community already! They meet multiple times each week to collaborate to ensure consistency in the learning experiences tied to our TEKS, as well as reviewing student data to inform instruction. What an amazing crew!

Dear Light Farms Elementary Family,
Thank you all for your generous support of our Raise Craze fundraiser, Launch Kindness. We are blown away with this year’s success so far. You really showed up! Tuesday we reached our sustaining goal of $75,000 and 3,000 Acts of Kindness. We’ve also had 838 students register, which is 80% of our student body. How amazing are you Light Farms?!
We still have 6 days left and we think we can do more, with your help. To match the momentum created this year, we’ve raised the bars to 5,000 Acts of Kindness, and $100,000. We see the efforts your children and families are putting in and we are beyond grateful. We humbly ask, can you do more? If each registered student is able to bring in an additional $29.83, and complete 2 more Acts of Kindness, we can reach our stretch goal together!
We are raising money for continued support of our staff through efforts like classroom grants for educational materials, Light Farms branded and customized window film for school exterior, STEAM enrichment programs, playground equipment and safety upgrades, improvements for Specials Classes, Library upgrades, and funds to help with campus needs in the face of our school’s growth and as we approach our 10 year anniversary.
Let’s finish strong. If you haven’t registered yet, please consider joining us! Log those Acts of Kindness. And keep sending those emails to friends, co-workers, teammates, and relatives; whose support may surprise you!
We can't meet our stretch goals without YOU!!!
Sincerely,
Cordelia Rubin

This month, we come together to shine a light on a critical issue: fentanyl poisoning. Fentanyl is a potent synthetic opioid that has taken far too many lives. But together, we can make a difference.

Just some photos of kids learning at high levels. Nothing fancy, but it's what we do at Light Farms Elementary!

People talk a lot about the "new math" and how it is so different from they way they learned. Here's a great example of how a foundation of place value helps create meaning with the use of a standard algorithm, rather than simply memorizing "borrow" in subtraction.

I wanted to spotlight Ms. Ball's daily letter to students. In this letter, she clarified learning outcomes for the day and helps build rapport with her classroom, cultivating a positive and nurturing environment for learning. Way to go Ms. Ball!

We hope to see you and your family out at family kindness night tonight from 5:30-7:00! Don't forget to stop by The Nook for spirit night as well!
