Together We Prosper August 26, 2025 | | |

| | | The school year is off to a great start as students find their rhythm in the classroom and settle into new routines. This week’s video features Meet the Teams, a fun tradition that highlights our fall sports teams, the spirit of our schools, and the connections that bring our community together.
Each week, we remain focused on supporting growth, building relationships, and preparing students for what lies ahead—because Together We Prosper.
| | | | From Classroom to Cosmetology Career Over the past two weeks, students in Richland High School's new Cosmetology Academy have been busy practicing hair design and styling in Mrs. Alexander's class, immersing themselves in hands-on learning in their salon-style classroom. Throughout the program, students will learn the fundamentals of cosmetology tools and techniques while collaborating with their peers and developing the skills that will carry them into their future careers.
Through a partnership with the prestigious Toni & Guy Academy, the program prepares 9th and 10th-grade students to earn their Cosmetology Operator's License from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). By their senior year, students will also gain valuable experience in business management, providing a strong foundation not only as licensed cosmetologists but also as professionals ready to enter the industry with confidence.
The Cosmetology Academy is one of three new Career and Technical Education (CTE) Academies at Richland this year, designed to allow high school students to explore their passions, challenge themselves, and prepare for success beyond high school. | | | Adult Education & Literacy ProgramCollin College's Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) program offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for adults 19 and older, opening doors for learning and connection. These classes help families feel more at home, strengthen community bonds, and celebrate the diverse voices that make Prosper grow together.
