Last week our students finished up the beginning of the year MAP assessments. This data gives teachers critical information so they can start planning their intervention and enrichment groups. Every student in our building has a 30 minute dedicated WIN (what I need) time. Students are grouped based off teacher assessments, MAP, and reading data. This allows our teachers to give targeted intervention or enrichment based off student need. You can access your child's MAP data through the parent Edugence portal. If you need help with this, please reach out to your child's teacher.

How can you help at home? The best way for you to help your child at home is to ensure they are reading every night (with you is completely fine) for at least 20 minuntes. This is the single, most influential way to impact your child's reading success. Just check out the graphic below! Also, pay close attention to the instructional insight section in your child's weekly grade level newsletter. This section will have additional ways you can help support your child at home.

We are excited to kick off something brand new this year! Our PTO is sponsoring our first-ever Sweet Adventure, which will serve as our annual fundraiser and the official launch of our Learning Buddy Partner Classrooms!

What are Learning Buddies?

Every year, our younger students are paired with an older partner class to read together, conduct fun science experiments, practice writing, and build meaningful relationships across grade levels.

What to Expect:

• Big Reveal: Learning Buddy classrooms will be officially announced at our Sweet Adventure event on Friday, September 11th!

One of the things we love to do is shout out our Stuber community. We have such wonderful people that help to support our school; we want to make sure they hear about it. Here's how we handle each one of these:

Student Shout Outs

Student Shout Outs will be highlighted by our Stuber Broadcasting Team twice per month. This will honor student achievements outside of school. We know our students are doing some pretty incredible things with Boy/Girl Scouts, sports, dance, cheer, theater, academics, etc. and we want to celebrate them. All you need to do is a quick write up so our news crew can tell the story. Feel free to add a picture. Unfortuantely videos are too large to send through Google form. Student Shout Outs will begin in September.

Teacher and Staff Shout Outs

Our teachers and staff work so hard and there are often things they do behind the scenes that we would never know. We would love to share the love with them through your words and encouragement. All you have to do is fill out the quick form and we will take care of the rest. I can tell you this absolutely makes their day when I drop a shout out from a parent on their desk. Your words make a difference!

Parent and Community Shout Outs

This is new this year! We have so many wonderful parents who help support our school in the very best ways. If you would like to shout out a parent, fill out the quick form and we will take care of the rest. Our parents deserve to hear how their actions make a big difference in our school.

Owen Altom a kindergarten student at Stuber Elementary in Prosper, Texas, will be featured in the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) Times Square Video Presentation in New York City on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Each year, NDSS celebrates individuals with Down syndrome from around the world through a special video presentation displayed on two large screens in the heart of Times Square. This year’s presentation will feature photographs of more than 500 children, teens, and adults with Down syndrome from all 50 states and 12 countries. Owen’s photograph was selected from more than 2,700 submissions received through NDSS’s worldwide call for photos. His photo will be displayed on two Jumbotron screens in Times Square, giving him the opportunity to represent the Down syndrome community on one of the world’s most iconic stages.

Our clubs are starting to get rolling! In order for your child to participate in a club, we must have the below form filled out. Some clubs require an additional application or audition, however, we still must have this form completed by each student's parent who wishes to participate. More clubs will continue to be added throughout the year.
