 | Stuber Family, I recently attended a conference where I heard something that has stuck with me. In a room full of principals, district leaders, and superintendents, the presenter said, "I want you to remember that your shiniest experience, isn't everyone's experience." I thought that was so profound. In a world full of highlight reels, it is important to remember that we have students and families who feel as though they don't belong. I am so proud of our school, but I recognize that we still have important work to do. As much as I would like to say that 100% of our students love coming to school and 100% of our parents are satisfied with their child's education, I know that is simply not the case. Our school must continue to find ways to ensure our students feel seen, heard, and loved. We must also ensure that parents feel safe to share feedback. Our first quarter survey will be out in just a few weeks, but I am always available to sit with you - even just to listen. While I may not be able to do something in the moment, I can certainly take the feedback to where it needs to go. Our school belongs to you - the Stuber community - and we must work together to perserve what we love and improve what needs work. It takes us all. With gratitude, Mrs. McLain, Principal |

Rainy Day Arrival and Dismissal It looks like we are expecting to finally see some good rain toward the end of this week. Please be aware and review the rainy day arrival and dismissal protocol with your child. Arrival - If there is lightning in the area (within 5-10 miles), crossing guards will not be at their posts.
- Buses run as normal as long as there is not a severe weather threat.
- All bikers and walkers should be dropped off in the carline.
- Staff will be outside to help children as much as possible, but please do not wait for a staff member to come and open the car door. Once you have pulled up to a cone, have your child go ahead and get out. This helps to keep everything moving.
- If there is lightning in the area, staff will not be staged at cones. Instead, they will be under the awning to help students enter the building.
- The carline will move slower on days that are raining. Mrs. McLain will keep a close eye on this and will not count tardies until the carline has finished. However, please plan for extra time.
Dismissal - If there is lightning in the area (within 5-10 miles), crossing guards will not be at their posts.
- Buses run as normal as long as there is not a severe weather threat.
- If there is lightning in the area or we are in the middle of a heavy downpour, walkers and bikers will be moved to the carline.
- Mrs. McLain will send out communication of a Rainy Day Dismissal around 2:40 (30 minutes prior to dismissal). If you would like to change your child's dismissal plan for a rainy day, you can do that through the form below.
- If there is lightning or hail, staff will not be standing at cones. Instead they will be runners to get students from inside the building.
- Do not park and walk up to get your child. You will be sent back to the carline. We understand that this process requires a lot of patience. However, getting 900+ students out safely while also protecting staff requires time. Please be gracious.
- Remember, A-L is FRONT carline and M-Z is BACK carline. If you access the wrong carline, it takes quite a bit of time to go and retrieve your child from the other side of the building.

Spelling Bee Information SCRIPPS NATIONAL SPELLING BEE SIGN UPS It is time to sign up to participate in the Scripp's National Spelling Bee. Prosper is proud to have had the #6 speller in the NATION last year from the 10 million students who participated.
The 2026-2027 Prosper ISD Spelling Bee will take place in several levels. At the first level, campuses will host a written test. Our Regional Sponsor only allows participation in grades 3 - 8 so that is what Prosper ISD will honor as well.
The top 20 (maybe more if there are ties) students from those tests will compete in the Campus Spelling Bee held in November in a traditional Spelling Bee oral format. The Champion from each campus will advance to the District Spelling Bee on December 10, 2026. The top 6 students from Prosper ISD will advance to the Collin County Spelling Bee held in February 2027. The top 3-6 students at the Collin County Bee will advance to the Dallas Regional Bee. From there, winners will advance to the National Bee.
Please check the message at the end of the google form for a link to the study words and a link to download an app to help with studying. Per the rules, we can not post these publicly.
By completing this form, you are giving your permission for your child to participate in the Prosper ISD Scripp's National Spelling Bee preliminary contests and for your child to represent Prosper ISD in the contest should your student advance. Additionally, by completing this form, you acknowledge that your child's name and image may be used by Prosper ISD and the Scripp's National Spelling Bee organization when acknowledging winners and grant permission for that use.

District Wide Gold Out Join us on September 29 by wearing gold and participating in the district-wide gold out day to help raise awareness of childhood cancer. |
Every Minute Counts Our instructional day starts at 7:50. It is so important that our students are in their seat and ready to learn by this time. Every classroom is engaged in morning meeting where strong relationships are formed and school expectations are reviewed. This block n the morning is so important to the culture of our school. Setting your alarm just 10 minutes earlier ensures students are there for this important time. If your child does arrive late, we need to you walk your child into the building and check them in through our kiosk. We will place a sign out front with this reminder beginning on Tuesday. Please do not drop off your child at the door. We need you to ensure your child starts their day off right! |
Student, Teacher, and Parent Shout Outs! One of the things we love to do is shout out our Stuber community. We have such wonderful people that help to support our school; we want to make sure they hear about it. Here's how we handle each one of these: Student Shout Outs Student Shout Outs will be highlighted by our Stuber Broadcasting Team twice per month. This will honor student achievements outside of school. We know our students are doing some pretty incredible things with Boy/Girl Scouts, sports, dance, cheer, theater, academics, etc. and we want to celebrate them. All you need to do is a quick write up so our news crew can tell the story. Feel free to add a picture. Unfortuantely videos are too large to send through Google form. Student Shout Outs will begin in September.
Teacher and Staff Shout Outs Our teachers and staff work so hard and there are often things they do behind the scenes that we would never know. We would love to share the love with them through your words and encouragement. All you have to do is fill out the quick form and we will take care of the rest. I can tell you this absolutely makes their day when I drop a shout out from a parent on their desk. Your words make a difference!
Parent and Community Shout Outs This is new this year! We have so many wonderful parents who help support our school in the very best ways. If you would like to shout out a parent, fill out the quick form and we will take care of the rest. Our parents deserve to hear how their actions make a big difference in our school. |
