🌧️ Weather Update 6: School Closure - Thursday, January 29, 2026
After carefully assessing current road conditions and reviewing weather forecasts, Prosper ISD will be closed on Thursday, January 29.
We have had dozens of facilities team members working every day to clear sidewalks, doorways, driveways, and parking lots across all campuses. However, the continued cold temperatures have simply not allowed the ice and snow to melt enough for safe passage.

🌧️ Weather Update 5 for Prosper ISD Families
After assessing current conditions and reviewing weather forecasts, Prosper ISD will be closed on Wednesday, January 28. While our facilities teams have worked throughout the day to clear sidewalks, doorways, driveways, and parking lots across all campuses, freezing temperatures overnight could refreeze what has melted today.

Even during a winter shutdown, the work continues behind the scenes! While schools and district offices are closed and we stay warm inside, our maintenance and custodial teams are braving the cold to care for our facilities. ❄️👏 It truly takes a village, and every staff member plays a vital role in creating safe, welcoming spaces for our students to learn and grow. We’re so grateful for this amazing team that shows excellence every day, in every way!

Today's 🌟Calhoun Class Connection🌟 is Mrs. Heather Brown's class. This week her students talked about travel by air. The class voted on the best way to travel and the data showed that the students prefer to travel by air. They found items they needed to pack, built an airport, painted the clouds they see from the airplane, and some students created rockets to travel even faster! #CalhounConnects #CalhounClassConnection

Today's 🌟Calhoun Class Connection🌟is Mrs. Bradley's class. Students are teaming up and working together to collect and graph data. This fun, hands-on activity builds early math skills while encouraging teamwork, conversation and lots of curiosity, learning from each other. #CalhounConnects #CalhounClassConnection

Today's 🌟Calhoun Class Connection🌟 is Mrs. Boyett's class. Her kiddos are exploring transportation and travel by engaging their senses and problem-solving skills across various interactive stations: Children step into the role of mechanics and drivers in a pretend garage. They use tools like wrenches and screwdrivers to "repair" vehicles, exploring how parts like wheels and axles work together. Students are creating roadways with street signs and different vehicles all the while tracing shapes and the roadways they have made. In the block area, kiddos build complex travel environments including bridges while using different vehicles. Students are also working on their sounds and making words. Learning through Play! #CalhounConnects #CalhounClassConnection
