With help from Hope Squad and lots of generous donations, the Hawk Soda Shop was back in action this week. Soda Shop gives our students the opportunity practice important and relevant life skills, while providing a refreshing treat to teachers!

Texas History comes to life! This week, 7th graders are participating in a simulation of life in the 1690s to learn about how and why early missions and Spanish attempts to colonize Texas failed.

Together We Champion: We love seeing students defend their thinking in a thoughtful debate to start the school day. Look at all those eager hands up!

Hays Student Council started the new week by greeting our younger friends next door at Jackson Elementary!

Today's professional learning day wouldn't be complete without students! Our Hays Varsity Choir had the opportunity to serve as the "demo" choir for a clinician who came to provide learning for all middle school and high school choir directors. Way to make us proud, ladies!

Our Hawkspitality Committee decided to start giving a "Substitute of the Month" award this year, and our first recipient is ... Ms. Ferrari! She is dependable, capable, loved by students and staff, and we are thankful for the days she chooses to come to Hays!

This morning, the PISD HR team stopped by Hays to congratulate our first year teachers on a successful start to the year. We're so proud of the impact they are already making here!
