| | | | Dear Johnson Families,
The wait is almost over...school starts on Tuesday, August 11! Our staff has been hard at work preparing classrooms, planning engaging learning experiences, and getting every detail ready to welcome our All Stars back to Sam Johnson Elementary. We cannot wait to see our hallways filled with smiling faces again!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Meet the Teacher. It was wonderful to see so many families connecting with teachers, exploring classrooms, and kicking off what promises to be an incredible school year. Your partnership is one of the things that makes our school community so special.
As we begin the year, here are a few reminders to help dismissal run safely and efficiently: - Please be patient. The first few days of school always take a little longer as students, staff, and families learn new routines. Dismissal becomes much quicker once everyone settles into the process. The process is detailed below.
- Have your dismissal tag visible every day. For families with multiple children, the dismissal tag will be sent home with the youngest child. Displaying your tag helps us quickly identify students and keeps our dismissal process safe and efficient.
- Follow staff directions and remain in the designated car line. Our team is committed to getting every student home safely, and your cooperation helps us make dismissal as smooth as possible.
Thank you for partnering with us as we kick off another amazing year. We are looking forward to a year of learning, growth, and celebrating our students together. See you Tuesday morning!
With excitement, Aimee Stanton Principal Sam Johnson Elementary ⭐

Teach good habits, cross at the crosswalks. To ensure a smooth start to the school day, all parents and visitors must exit the building before 7:50 a.m. This allows our teachers to begin morning routines and helps students transition confidently into their day. We have many more students this year, and nearly all leave campus by car each afternoon. Your patience and cooperation will help us dismiss every student as safely and efficiently as possible. 💙 🏷️ Dismissal Tags - Every family is assigned a dismissal number.
- You must display a current 2026–2027 dismissal tag. Last year’s number will not work.
- If you need an additional tag, please email Kim Wright at kdwright@prosper-isd.net.
- If you are picking up a child from another family, you must be listed as an emergency contact and have that family’s dismissal tag.
- We will not combine dismissal numbers this year. If you are picking up children with different dismissal numbers, you must display each number.
🚶 Walkers and Bikers 🚲 Students designated as walkers or bikers must leave the school grounds on foot. Students riding bicycles must walk their bikes until they are off campus. Please do not drive a vehicle, golf cart, or other motorized vehicle onto or around school property to pick up a student designated as a walker. This creates additional traffic, takes up limited parking, delays the car lines, and presents a safety concern. 🚙 Car Line - Display your dismissal tag where staff members can easily see it, and keep it displayed until your child is safely in your vehicle.
- We will communicate your family’s number to the classroom, and your child will report to an assigned numbered cone.
- If your child is delayed, a staff member may direct you to pull forward into an unnumbered waiting space. A team member will assist you there.
- 🛑 Stop at all crosswalks and keep them completely clear for pedestrians.
- Follow the directions of staff members holding stop signs. They understand the dismissal system and will guide traffic so students can be reunited with their families as quickly and safely as possible.
- Make sure you are in the correct line and follow the established traffic pattern.
- Do not exit your vehicle to walk to the door or guide your child. If you have a unique need, please ask a team member for assistance.
📍 Car-Line Assignments Last names beginning with A–L: Enter the car line through the east parking lot on Waterview. Use the two outer lanes and keep the inside lane clear. Last names beginning with M–Z: Enter the car line through the west parking lot and loop around Roseland Parkway. Please see the map below. Left turns into this parking lot are not permitted during dismissal. Use the two outer lanes and keep the inside lane clear. ⚠️ Safety and Courtesy 📵 Cell phone use while driving in an active school zone is prohibited and may result in a citation. Please remain alert and attentive throughout the dismissal process. We also ask that you treat our staff members with patience and respect. 🤝 Unkind or aggressive behavior toward staff will not be tolerated. Our team is working outside in the heat to dismiss hundreds of students as safely and quickly as possible. Entering the wrong line, failing to display all required tags, disregarding staff directions, requesting exceptions, or arguing with team members slows the entire dismissal process. Following the procedures helps every family get home sooner. We will get better and faster every day! Thank you for partnering with us and making the safety of our students and staff the highest priority. ⭐ | | | | | | Laura Clawson | |

| | Meet our Assistant Principal Hello Johnson Elementary Families! Welcome to another wonderful year at Johnson Elementary! I am so excited to begin another year serving this incredible school community and look forward to partnering with each of you throughout the year. This year marks my 20th year in education and my 4th year as an assistant principal. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles, including teaching Kinder, 1st, 3rd and 4th grades and serving as a Campus Instructional Coach. Each experience has strengthened my passion for supporting students, teachers, and families while helping create meaningful learning experiences for every child. My family and I are proud to call Prosper home. My husband, Lance, and I have three wonderful children who keep us busy! Our oldest, Avery, is a freshman at Prosper High School and is thrilled to be a member of the drill team this year. Emersyn is an eighth grader at Reynolds Middle School who loves playing volleyball, and our youngest, Camden, is a second grader here at Johnson Elementary. He enjoys spending time outdoors, playing baseball, and has recently discovered a love for golf. It is truly an honor to serve the Johnson Elementary community. My focus remains on creating a positive, welcoming, and collaborative environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I also believe that strong partnerships between home and school are essential to student success, and I look forward to working alongside our families to make this an incredible year for every Johnson All Star.
