First graders are turning up the heat in science! As we explore thermal energy, students are taking ownership of their learning through hands-on investigations where they predict, observe, investigate, analyze, discuss, and explain like real scientists.

Through engaging experiments with crayons, chocolate, popsicles, eggs, pancakes, and s’mores, students are seeing firsthand how adding thermal energy and increasing temperature can cause materials to change. These experiences bring TEKS 1.8A and 1.6B to life while providing high-quality, meaningful learning experiences where every student can participate, discover, and grow.

This is Together We Champion in action-creating joyful, engaging opportunities that empower every learner to wonder, investigate, think, explain, and continuously grow!
