Congratulations to Claire Shields, Josephine (Joey) Stout, and Natalie (Sam) Mitchell! These students are members of the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) club at Walnut Grove. They competed at the State Level- Teach Tomorrow Summit in Galveston, TX this past Tuesday and walked away with Gold! 🥇
They facilitated a Breakout Session titled: What About Us? Where Are Our Teachers? Why are they Leaving? In their session, they discussed a myriad of factors that contribute to the rise of teacher shortages and how this affects the state of education as a whole.
As aspiring educators, they are aware of the plight in education today. They spoke from personal experience, mentioning how a lack of teachers disrupts critical learning opportunities for students. They also spoke from their experience as interns, acknowledging the tremendous workload that teachers have, which they witness during their practicums.
This was a great presentation and they represented Walnut Grove extremely well! #TheStandard
