5th grade mathematicians have been working hard mastering decimal place value! Students used a giant life sized number line in the 5th grade hallway to locate decimals to the thousandths place. They had great conversations about how they knew where their number belonged on the number line using benchmark fractions as their guide.

Second graders in Mrs. Heaton’s class had so much fun learning how to represent numbers in flexible ways! They used base ten blocks, Braining Camp, and vertical white boards to check for understanding and learn from one another. Their favorite part was playing musical boards and coming up with different ways to compose and decompose numbers with their friends!

Students in Miss Madden's third grade class had fun playing "Place Value Headbands" game. In this game students had to guess the number on their head by asking each other questions about their number.

Students in Mrs. Villani's Third Grade Class performed a Reader's Theater in Social Studies about Benjamin Franklin last week. They practiced reading and fluency along with listening and speaking skills and learned about Ben Franklin's life. They definitely have some natural performers in their class! They all did a fantastic job working together!

Mrs. King's first graders have been practicing responding to the books they read during independent reading time. They have been working quietly and writing about the connections they make with characters and how the book made them feel . Keep up the great work first graders!
