Math is everywhere at Folsom! Our students are practicing lots of flexible thinking, representing, multiple strategies, and math vocabulary each day.
A week together at Folsom well spent. Teams looked at data and spotlighted student growth, we celebrated the House of Courage, we recognized another Star Polisher (Mrs. Evans) for moving mountains, we enjoyed an author visit, and we have done LOTS of learning!
🌟Meet our Rising Stars of the Year! New to the profession, these 29 teachers represent the impact of strong mentorship and collaboration across each of our campuses. Their early success and growth as educators reflect a district dedicated to excellence and ensuring students are in great hands. We’re excited to see the difference they will continue to make for our students!
Students are in for a four-day weekend, with Friday, Feb. 13 set as a staff development day, and Monday, Feb. 16 is officially a school holiday—not a bad-weather makeup day.

🌧️ Weather Update 6: School Closure - Thursday, January 29, 2026
After carefully assessing current road conditions and reviewing weather forecasts, Prosper ISD will be closed on Thursday, January 29.
We have had dozens of facilities team members working every day to clear sidewalks, doorways, driveways, and parking lots across all campuses. However, the continued cold temperatures have simply not allowed the ice and snow to melt enough for safe passage.

After assessing current conditions and reviewing weather forecasts, Prosper ISD will be closed on Wednesday, January 28. While our facilities teams have worked throughout the day to clear sidewalks, doorways, driveways, and parking lots across all campuses, freezing temperatures overnight could refreeze what has melted today.

Even during a winter shutdown, the work continues behind the scenes! While schools and district offices are closed and we stay warm inside, our maintenance and custodial teams are braving the cold to care for our facilities. ❄️👏 It truly takes a village, and every staff member plays a vital role in creating safe, welcoming spaces for our students to learn and grow. We’re so grateful for this amazing team that shows excellence every day, in every way!

School will proceed as normal on Friday, Jan. 23. However, due to the potential for extreme weather beginning Friday evening, all after-school and weekend activities, fine arts, and athletic events and practices are canceled from Friday, Jan. 23, through Sunday, Jan. 25.
We will continue monitoring conditions closely with local meteorologists and emergency management and will share updates as we evaluate our status for Monday.

It was another great week at Folsom! Our Mrs. Cortez is a district teacher of the year finalist, teams learned and looked at data together, students collaborated and created, Mrs. Ham and Ms. Harrison were recognized for crushing it, and so much more.
Proud of our teacher leadership. Our Guiding Coalition met and discussed ways to increase the level of thinking of tasks our teaching teams design for our students. This group of leaders supports our staff in maintaining a focus on collaboration, results, and learning!
Heads up, students and families! ‼️📢 Prosper ISD campuses will be closed Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will see you back in school on Tuesday morning.
