Tommy Allison

Coach Allison boasts an extensive 28-year tenure as an experienced educator, marked by numerous noteworthy achievements throughout his career. Hailing from Texas, he has left a remarkable coaching legacy at various schools, including Waco Robinson, where he lead one of the highest-scoring offenses in the state, Palestine High School, where he coached NFL Running Back Adrian Peterson, and most recently, Waco Midway. Coach Allison's leadership also propelled the Cayuga Wildcats to both a Lone Star Cup and a State Championship. He holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Exercise Science from Abilene Christian University, along with a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Coach Allison takes pride in his role as a devoted husband to Amy, who serves as a Speech Pathologist within Prosper ISD. Together, they are the parents of two sons and a daughter-in-law, Chase and his wife Steelie, and Cade, who is in his senior year of college. Coach Allison is honored to lead the Wildcats and eagerly anticipates the remarkable achievements that lie ahead for the student-athletes during their time at Walnut Grove. Go Cats!

Tyler Chronister

I will be starting my 12th year coaching football and entering my first in Prosper ISD as the QB/Offensive Coordinator at Walnut Grove High School. I love getting to work with student athletes and seeing them succeed on and off the field. Additionally, working a job where you are a part of a team and get to help build something is truly rewarding. I am originally from Collinsville, Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma State University.  I coached previously at Oologah High School and Collinsville High School, in Oklahoma. During that time, I have coached in 4 State Semi-Finals and 2 State Finals, winning the class 5A State Championship with an undefeated season in 2021.

I have been married to my wife, Kyndall, for 11 years. We have 3 children; Cooper, Collins, and Crew. We are excited to be a part of Prosper ISD and the Walnut Grove family. Go Cats!

Tyrel Lenard

Coach Lenard is entering his 10th year coaching and his 5th year in Prosper ISD. He was raised in Rifle, Colorado. He played football for the 2013 SCIAC conference championship team at the University of Redlands in Southern California. After graduating, he moved back to Colorado, where he began coaching while working in the oil field. In 2016, Coach Lenard moved to Texas and began his career in education as a social studies teacher and coach. He has made coaching stops at Grand Valley (CO), R.L. Turner High School, Alvarado High School, and Prosper High School.

 During his time at Prosper, the Eagles played in the quarter finals in 2019, 2020, and 2021. They were blessed to play in the state semifinal game in 2022. Coach Lenard and his wife Morgan have two daughters, Selah and Ember. At Walnut Grove, Coach Lenard teaches Partner’s PE and serves as the Defensive Coordinator and Inside Linebackers Coach. He and his family are excited to bring the best of their experiences, to help build a program that the best community in Texas will be proud of at The Grove! 

Coach Lenard loves coaching because it affords him the opportunity to build men who are simultaneously  “Both Dangerous and Good.” “We will forge men who will become pillars of their families and communities by loving, protecting, serving, and cultivating those entrusted to them.”

Avery Anderson

I grew up in DeSoto, TX and had the opportunity to play at DeSoto High School, where I graduated from and is considered one of the most talented schools for athletics in the nation. I  lettered one year at Navarro Junior College and then went on to letter 3 years at East Central University, earning HM ALL-LSC senior year as a defensive end. I have been blessed to be a part of a few successful programs as a coach, beginning with the turnaround with my alma mater, ECU. Under great leadership, ECU gave me my first opportunity to coach and after going 0-11 the first year, we ended up winning the school's first and only LSC North title the following year. I then had coaching stops at Lawton HS (OK), Putnam City HS(OK), McCowan MS(DeSoto ISD), Reynolds MS (Prosper ISD), and most recently at Frisco Wakeland HS. My wife is also an educator and we have 4 children; 1 daughter who is 15 and 3 sons ages 13, 8,7.  In my 13 years of coaching, I have acquired extended family from the relationships and bonds that have been built over time and I look forward to continuing to add family and build strong relationships while helping cultivate The Standard here at The Grove. Go Wildcats!

Jamie Ball

Coach Ball comes to us from Flower Mound Marcus High School where he has spent the past two years. He has been coaching for 7 years in total, with 2 of those being in the public school realm. This is Coach Ball's first year at Prosper ISD.  

He has been married to his wife Jazmin for 7 years, and they have a 4-year-old daughter, Jada Grace. Coach Ball played college baseball at Hardin Simmons University, where he was an All Conference and All Region player.  He was also awarded "The Kelley College of Business Dean's Award" his senior year. The thing that Coach Ball enjoys most about coaching is seeing his past players go on to have success in different areas of their lives.

Chad Cousins

My name is Chad Cousins and this is my 20th year of coaching.  This is technically my second year in Prosper, although I was last here during the 2013-2014 year at Prosper High School.  I have coached at Mesquite Horn, Nevada Community, Prosper, Little Elm, Irving Ranchview, and now Walnut Grove.
 
I love coaching for a variety of reasons.  I love the ability to work with different players from different backgrounds and help them to achieve their goals.  I love the camaraderie of the coaching staff and the relationships that are built through the hours of being together.  I love the feeling of winning and some of the lessons learned when losing.  
 
My wife's name is Beth and we have two boys, Jack and Levi.  I would say that these days my main hobby is watching the two of them play competitive soccer.  I also like to try to squeeze in the occasional round of golf.

Josh Davenport

Joshua Davenport is in his 19th year of coaching and 1st year at Prosper ISD. He is truly excited to serve in the capacity as the Running Back Coach/Powerlifting Coach and Recruiting Coordinator here at The Grove. Coach Davenport has had the honor to build lifelong relationships for eighteen years in the following districts: Mesquite ISD, Frisco ISD, Fort Worth ISD, and Cedar Hill ISD.

The joy of coaching has truly allowed the opportunity to build impactful relationships among players and families, cultivate strong bonds among coaches, and engage in electric atmospheres. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, fishing, and making those around him feel at home.

Preston Gill

Coach Gill has been a proud Texas educator for 17 years. He has made teaching and coaching stops in Plano, Lubbock, Allen, and most recently Sherman. He has a passion for sports and helping to mold young athletes into leaders both on the field and off. Coach Gill is excited to be part of The Grove family coaching the Varsity Football Offensive Line and Powerlifting. He can't wait to see the accomplishments of his students and athletes and looks forward to working with you! Go Cats!

Jonathan Ladd

Coach Jonathan Ladd is starting his 8th year of coaching and his first year at Walnut Grove. He graduated from Mount Vernon HS in 2012, received a B.S from the University of Arkansas in 2016, and a M.Ed
from Lamar in 2019. Ladd comes from Mount Vernon where he coached for 2 years. Other stops include Spring Hill, Paul Pewitt and Pleasant Grove. He is married to his beautiful wife, Jamie, who is a school counselor at Walnut Grove. They welcomed their first son, Jameson, in April.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and two dogs, as well as watching sporting events.

Michael Morse

Coach Michael Morse is from Dallas, TX and is in his 7th year of coaching and teaching. He comes from Richardson High School where he coached linebackers, defensive line, running backs and was the special teams coordinator. He is motivated by the life-long relationships he is able to build with the kids. 

Coach Morse attended Southern Methodist University, he was a 3-year letterman as a Quarterback and Linebacker where he majored in Economics and Finance. Coach Morse is a family man; married to his beautiful wife, Claire. Together they have a two-year-old son, Keller, and he is their entire world. In his spare time, he enjoys napping, golfing, and giving in to his sweet tooth.

Garrett Roberson

Coach Roberson enters his 9th year overall as a football coach and first year at Walnut Grove. The native of Idalou, Texas spent his undergraduate time at West Texas A&M University where he was a walk-on quarterback during the 2008-2009 seasons. He held a roster spot on the Amarillo Venom Arena Football team during the 2012 season. Roberson spent his time gaining knowledge and coaching experience as a strength & conditioning assistant his last two years at WTAMU, and graduated in May of 2013 with a Bachelors of Science (emphasis in Sport and Exercise Science). Roberson moved to the DFW area immediately after and worked to attain his Masters in Exercise Physiology from the University of Texas at Arlington. In his final semester, Roberson worked as an intern at Cedar Hill with the football program and also assisted with the strength and conditioning aspects as well. Roberson began his coaching and teaching career at Keller Middle School in Keller, Texas working with football, basketball, and track from 2015-2017. In the 2017-2018 school year, Roberson was the Athletics Coordinator at Finley Junior High. The 2018-2021Roberson was the Quarterbacks Coach, Head Powerlifting, and Head Strength & Conditioning Coordinator at Forney High.  During the 2021-2022 school year, Coach Roberson served as the Quarterback’s/Running Backs Coach at Cleburne High School, and most recently was the Quarterback’s Coach/ Passing Game Coordinator at Hebron High School. As an Idalou Wildcat, Roberson lettered 3 years in basketball, was the Offensive MVP of the District and 2nd Team All South Plains his senior season. He also lettered and competed in football, baseball, and track for 2 years. Garrett's greatest moment in life, aside from being saved by Jesus Christ, has been marrying his wife, Courtney.

Derrick Shelton

Derrick Shelton is in his 9th year of coaching high school football. While this is his 1st year in Prosper ISD, his previous coaching stops include Borger, Lubbock Estacado, and Kermit. Coach Shelton's favorite thing about coaching is having the opportunity to be a positive role model for students, and to help them to become productive members of society.  He played college football at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he was a two-time all conference offensive lineman.

He has been married to his wife, Melissa, for three years. His hobbies include working out and spending time with his wife.

Paul Yatkowski

Coach Yak, hailing from Knoxville, TN, brings 12 years of coaching experience, including stops at The Webb School of Knoxville, Arizona State University, and Mesa Community College, focusing on the defensive line and linebackers. He boasts a rich playing history, excelling at Mesa Community College as Region 1 MVP and a First Team All-American. He later earned a scholarship to the University of Tennessee, capping his college career with the Volunteers. Drafted 3rd in the 1993 CFL Draft, Coach Yak briefly joined the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 1994 before continuing his playing career with the Ottawa Rough Riders and BC Lions in the CFL.

Coach Yak, drawn to coaching football for its character-building potential, aims to mentor and be a positive role model at Walnut Grove High School. He resides with his girlfriend, Caroline, in Prosper, and enjoys outdoor adventures with his sons, Tate and Tyler, who are attending Arizona universities.
