How are the different UIL classifications broken down?
UIL classification is based on the high school enrollment ONLY (it has nothing to do with district enrollment or enrollment on elementary and middle school campuses). The classifications are as follows for 2020-2022:
1A (104.9 & below) 2A (105-249) 3A (250-544) 4A (545-1299) 5A (1300 - 2224) 6A (2225 & Above)
The new alignment was announced in February of 2022. -
What is the UIL District for Prosper ISD high schools?
The current alignment was announced by the UIL in February of 2022. The 6A competitive district for PHS and RHHS is as follows:
(Region 1 - District 5) - Allen, Denton Braswell, Denton Guyer, Little Elm, McKinney, McKinney Boyd, Prosper, Prosper Rock Hill
Because WGHS opened in the middle of an alignment, football was not able to go into a district for the 2023-2024 school year and will play a special schedule. For all other activities, WGHS is in the following 5A competitive district:
(Region 2- District 10) - Frisco Centennial, Frisco Emerson, Frisco Heritage, Frisco Independence, Frisco Lebanon Trail, Frisco Liberty, Frisco Memorial, Prosper Walnut Grove
This alignment will last through the 2023-2024 school year. The next alignment will be announced February of 2024.
