I am from Lexington, Kentucky, where I graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in 2005.  I played both football and baseball in high school.  I attended the University of North Texas on a football scholarship from 2005-2009.  I played on the offensive line and started for 3 seasons.  After college, my first job was in New Orleans, LA at O Perry Walker High School where I coached the offensive line from 2010-2012.  From 2013-2015 I worked as a Graduate Assistant at UTEP working with the offensive line.  In 2016 I spent the year at Anthony High School coaching running backs.  From 2017-2020 I was the run game coordinator and offensive line coach at Hebron High School.  While at Hebron, I also coached freshman/jv baseball for all 4 years.  For the last two years I was the Offensive Coordinator at Irving MacArthur High School.  My wife’s name is Krystal, who I will be married to for 10 years in January of 2024. We have two boys. Champ, who is 7 years old, and Roogi who will be 4 this upcoming November.  Interesting side note, I was born in Misawa, Japan (Dad was in Air Force) and lived there for the first 8 years of my childhood.

Carter Severson

Carter Severson is an inclusion teacher along with being a H-backs and offensive line coach at Rock Hill High School. Since he can remember, he has always loved the game of football. He started playing when he was just 9 years old and continued playing into his college years. While playing football in high school, he received the All-Conference Honorable Mention Award. Along with playing football, Carter wrestled, becoming a two-time state qualifier and participated in shot put, being a one-time state qualifier. He continued playing football at Southwestern Assemblies of God University, where he was a multiple-time Academic All-Conference member and won the Champion of Character Award.

While at SAGU, Carter received a Bachelor of Arts in Business and a minor in both Marketing and Business Administration. He was involved in many extracurricular activities, including being the president of Street Hope, a student-led ministry that travels to a homeless shelter in Dallas to spend time and feed the homeless on Friday nights. He was also a volunteer at Common Ground where he mentored at-risk youth. After graduating from SAGU, he went on to receive his Alternative Teacher Certification.

Carter and his family recently moved back to Texas from North Carolina where he taught employment prep and coached the offensive line at Sanderson High School. Carter is married to his wife Caroline and together they have a one-year-old daughter and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their son in early December.
