Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)

  • The Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program is designed to provide targeted intervention during the most critical developmental years of a child’s life.   Placement in this program is determined by a student’s ARD Committee after he/she has been formally assessed and determined to have a qualifying eligibility and educational need for specially designed instruction.  The ECSE classroom utilizes a curriculum that is aligned to state pre-kindergarten guidelines and is modified to meet the individual needs of students.  In addition to academics, instruction targets the development of students’ functional, adaptive, communication, motor, and social skills.
