Prosper ISD is excited to provide the Community News Folder which will help publicize activities for local groups and organizations. This forum will allow groups to post information on programs, fundraisers, classes and other activities.

The information below has been submitted to and approved by the Communications Department. It will be updated on a regular basis. Check back often for the latest opportunities and information from our community.

Non-profit groups will be allowed to post information at no cost. For-profit groups we will be asked for a donation to the Prosper Education Foundation in exchange for the opportunity to place information on the website.

To review our policy on distributing non-school materials please click here. If you would like to post information to this page, please complete the online submission form. Upon submission, your request will be reviewed by the PISD Communications department for approval. If approved, it will be posted on this page.

Listings in this community folder do not constitute an endorsement by Prosper ISD of any agency, group, organization or business. Prosper ISD does not assume any responsibility for any of the events or programs listed.

    Help for the Ogola Family


    Prosper's own Clifford Ogola and his family need our help! To know Clifford (Deejay Drofflic) and his wife Jessica is to love them! You have seen Clifford all over town either at 7-11 or DeeJay'ng any number of Prosper events. I would probably bet that you have never seen Clifford without a smile on his face.

    Dancing with Dominic/Hunter Syndrome Foundation

    Prosper

    Dominic, age 8, is a Prosper resident and in 3rd grade at Baker Elementary. He suffers from Hunter Syndrome, a rare genetic disease with no cure. The 7th annual Dancing with Dominic event is a FREE family-friendly dance party to raise awareness about Hunter Syndrome. Performances by the PHS Talonettes, RMS Eagle Darlings and RMS Emeralds. Crafts/activities for kids. December 2nd, 2-5pm at 3R's Ranch in Prosper.

    Delivering the essence of holiday cheer, The Nutcracker is an established and traditional production performed for decades all over the world. Cherished by the young and old, audiences fill the theatre to come see beautiful dancers bring a classical story to life.

    Plano, TX The Nutcracker, performed by Chamberlain Performing Arts, is an exquisite and elegant production. Consisting of highly trained dancers, with expressional and clean movement, you will be immediately immersed in this holiday classic. The story, as is brought to life on the stage, follows young Clara as she celebrates the cheerful season with family and friends. Adventure awaits Clara and her Nutcracker Prince! They battle the Mouse King and embark on a journey through the Land of Sweets with the Sugar Plum Fairy.

    Accompanying members of Chamberlain Ballet, in this performance, are Tiler Peck and Tyler Angle, principle dancers of the New York City Ballet! Mr. Angle and Ms. Peck, star of Hulu's Ballet Now, will also perform a beautiful pas de deux. This is a nutcracker not to miss, and all families, children, and adults young and old will surely love this performance. Do not miss the opportunity to immerse yourself and your family in this holiday tradition. Ticket information is as follows:

    Ticket Range - $15.00 - $100.00
    Tickets can be purchased through the Eisemann Center at the ticket office the day of the show or online at www.chamberlainperformingarts.org or www.eisemanncenter.com. A ten percent (10%) discount is available for groups of 10 or more. A twenty percent (20%) discount for groups of 20 or more.

    Lion's Heart - Teen Volunteers and Leaders
    *NEW*

    We are Lion's Heart: teens dedicated to positive social impact. We are a national 501(c)3 nonprofit that connects 6th-12th grade students with local volunteer opportunities that help them build a passion for service while building vital leadership skills. Through the digital member portal, teens can find service opportunities within 20 miles of their location on their Lion's Heart calendar, track service hours, connect with peers, and export their volunteer portfolio to use on college/scholarship applications.

    We are excited to welcome our newcomers to Prosper and the surrounding areas! We will meet once a week on Mondays starting August 27th from 9:30 - 11:30 am for twelve weeks at Rhea Mills Baptist Church. We hope to get you plugged in with others in the community as well as establish and cultivate new friendships through lunches and other outings.
