Communications (COMM)

  • This instructional setting provides specially designed instruction to students with significant communication disorders that substantially impair academic and behavioral performance.  These students access the general education curriculum through modifications at a prerequisite level, and instructional emphasis is placed on teaching functional communication skills in the areas of self-help, academic performance, and behavior.  As students’ language skills increase, the rigor of their academic instruction is also increased such that they are able to achieve success across both school and community settings.
