Board Communication - March 28, 2024

We wanted to share some information with our families about a court case that was filed in 2022 amid claims of abuse by a former Prosper ISD bus driver.

Prosper Independent School District received correspondence from the judge regarding the next steps in the legal action.   The judge has sided with Prosper ISD by dismissing 18 out of 20 claims against the school district. This is a positive development, but we want to remind our families and community that litigation is ongoing.

“Our hearts are heavy with the pain endured by our students because of the vile actions of a former employee.  Our concern and care for our students remains steadfast. Throughout this legal process, the Board of Trustees has remained confident that these baseless allegations against the District would be refuted. We are confident that the next step in the legal process will continue to show that district administrators acted in a swift and timely manner when informed of these allegations against the former employee, which resulted in his immediate termination and subsequent arrest,” said Board of Trustees President Bill Beavers.

Prosper ISD is committed to transparency and accountability, ensuring that our actions are always in the best interest of our students and their families.
